Feng Shui Meets Gothic!

The brief from this client was to renovate the dilapidated rear courtyard and establish links with an existing glen, creating a garden suitable for relaxation and entertaining. The design challenge was to achieve these aims based on an informal design with interlinked water features and paths all within a gothic theme and in accordance with the client’s interest in Feng Shui

Custom designed gothic style artefacts provide not only striking features within the garden, but also help to subdivide the garden. Undoubtedly the finishing touch is the nine-foot long dragon sipping at the well which was specially commissioned from local sculptor Alan Callister.

The planting scheme was designed to provide a year round display with an emphasis on providing long availability of food plants for insects and birds.

Landscape Design and Management Ltd and Prescott Associates Ltd both received the International Award for this garden in the BALI National Awards in 2002.
