Prescott Associates Ltd is committed to encouraging equality, fostering social diversity and eliminating discrimination.

The purpose of our policy is to create a positive and supportive working environment for everyone and for each person to feel respected and able to give their best.

As a practice we are committed to treating our clients with respect, aim to provide solutions that are relevant for their needs and to fair and positive treatment of our suppliers, visitors and the public.

The Isle of Man Equality Act 2017

The Isle of Man Equality Act 2017 is being phased in from January 2019 to January 2020. The act deals with discrimination in respect of employment and the provision of goods and services on the grounds of the protected characteristics of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation.

The purpose of our policy is to:

  • provide equality, fairness and respect for all persons
  • not unlawfully discriminate on the grounds of the Protected Characteristics
  • oppose and avoid all forms of unlawful discrimination

Prescott Associates Ltd commits to:

  • encourage equality and diversity in the workplace as they are good practice and make business sense
  • create a working environment free of bullying, harassment, victimisation and unlawful discrimination, promoting dignity and respect for all, and where individual differences and the contributions of all people are recognised and valued
  • take seriously complaints of bullying, harassment, victimisation and unlawful discrimination by fellow employees, customers, suppliers, visitors, the public and any others in the course of the organisation’s work activities. Such acts will be dealt with as misconduct under the companies grievance and/or disciplinary procedures, and any appropriate action will be taken.
  • review employment practices and procedures when necessary to ensure fairness
  • monitor, review and update our procedures and the policy to take account of changes in the law
